SYNOPSIS

In the mid-1930s, in a rural Tennessee community, a drifter named Ocie Hedgepath returns to his hometown after learning of the vicious murders of his sister and her infant son.

A man named Buster Drumwright has confessed to the crimes and has been locked up in the county jail awaiting his lawful hanging in three days.

Ocie pretends to be a preacher so he can get inside the jail and kill Buster. But several obstacles stand in his way:

A sheriff’s deputy is keeping guard, and an angry mob threatens to rush the jail, overpower the deputy and kill Buster before he is hanged.

It’s a race against time with extremely high stakes for two lives on a collision course with destiny.
